Canon Sd1200Is – Easy To Use Digital Camera Takes Very Nice Quality Pictures!
I LOVE my Canon SD1200IS 10 MP Digital Camera.
My daughter owns the Canon SD1100IS 8MP. It takes fine pictures, but it has limited use for changing lens and isn’t quite a high end camera….and it isn’t quite portable.
This small camera takes 10 MB and I can adjust it to take pictures up close. I found it easy to use, very portable and have been very happy with the quality of the images.
In addition, I got the Transcend 8 GB SDHC Class 6 Flash Memory Card with card reader TS8GSDHC6-S5W, which makes downloading images a breeze. I pop out the memory card, insert into the card reader and plug into my computer.
Done.
My biggest issue with cameras before is it took me too long to figure out how to use them. This has been simple.
This particular one was a replacement for another Canon Powershot which I lost when I had to
evacuate during the Station Fires in Altadena. That brings me to the one problem…they are small and easy to misplace.
I keep hoping to locate that first camera…that would be lovely since my daughter keeps borrowing mine!
Canon SD1200IS – Great Little Camera
Very nice little camera, great size and works well. Takes pictures fast, refresh rate is great, easy to review and delete pictures if required. Download of pictures onto computer is easy also.
The menu though, to me, is lacking somewhat. Granted, I have NOT looked into the CD menu on the computer but it should be on the camera and not on the CD, if it’s on there. For instance, I want to reduce the mega pixels picture size. Couldn’t find it on the camera menu. The options for using flash is limited on the Auto picture taking mode. Have to go to program to change flash modes. Red-eye reduction doesn’t work well.
I like it that when zooming, it shows when you are at the optical zoom limit, and it then proceeds into the digital zoom. It actually will stop zooming for a second; likewise when reducing the zoom.
Battery life is good/great. Of course when actually using the camera, I zoomed, looked at the menus, reviewed pictures, turn on/off multiple times. So… whatever the battery life is quoted during Canon’s testing is, the battery life time of course is flawed. But it did last two days of sightseeing before having to recharge.
